Claudia Wilde is an Austrian photographic artist, based in Australia, whose practice is central to identity, woman- and motherhood, and our relationship to the natural world. Working from lived experience, her photographs examine the emotional, social and political dimensions of being a woman, with a focus on transitional and transformational periods within women’s and mothers life’s and the structures that shape care and support.

Her long-form projects, including The Beauty and (hidden) Terror of Life and Remind Me I Am Part Of You, consider our enigmatic tie to nature and look at the phenomena of the return to oneself, one another and the living world around us during critical times within our life. Other bodies of work extend her engagement with themes of maternal mental health, support structures, immigration and belonging.

Wilde’s work has been exhibited internationally across Europe and Australia. Her work has been recognised through multiple awards and publications, including the Head On Photo Award, Australia’s Top Emerging Photographers, Fotografiska, Photo Vogue and Memory Cult Magazine.
